Well, it’s been two weeks in a row now that romance has led the way at the box office, and the star-studded comedy called Valentine’s Day really dominated the Valentine holiday weekend. This weekend, however, “date night” might turn into “fright night” as the new thriller called Shutter Island is in theaters everywhere.
Shutter Island stars Leonardo DiCaprio and is directed by Oscar-winner Martin Scorcese, and it actually marks the fourth time that Leo has starred in a Scorcese film. Interestingly, all four of their joint ventures…. Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed and now Shutter Island …are all very different, and this new one just might be the biggest thriller of them all.
Shutter Island takes place in the 1950s and it puts Leonardo DiCaprio in the role of a U.S. marshal who visits a remote mental hospital in search of a missing patient. During the film, Leo’s character eventually realizes that he’s got another agenda… to possibly find the killer of his wife, and when a storm cuts the island off from all communication, things get crazier and crazier.
Shutter Island is open everywhere.
